Femo Wong is a new designer and curator from the 90s.
He founded Femo Design Studio and was trained by Professor Yu Lizhan from the Institute of Furniture Research, Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, and the internationally renowned Chinese designer Chi Wing Lo.Femo Wong’s personal collection includes over two thousand original designs and is well-versed in modern design aesthetics and production technology. During his university years, he achieved outstanding academic and overall performance, ranking first in his college. He received the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Education of China and the First Class Scholarship from the school 12 times. He has won more than 150 professional design competitions, including the China Design Award, Germany Red Dot Award, Germany IF Design Award, Taiwan Golden Dot Award, China Design Intelligence Award, China Furnishing China – Crystal Kylin Award Silver Award, China Red Star Award Future Star Award (two in the country), and the 2020 China Design Rising Star from AD Magazine. He has displayed his work in more than 60 exhibitions, including the Milan Furniture Fair in Italy, the Stockholm Furniture Fair in Sweden, Design Shanghai, and Design Spring.
Furthermore, he is the chief curator of the ‘D2M Lab’ at China National Expo, the chief curator of ‘Stone Infinite X Stone Design in New Period’ at Xiamen International Stone Fair, and the curator of the furniture section at several city design weeks.
He holds multiple positions in committees and associations related to interior design and architecture in China. Additionally, he regularly contributes to the design column of South China Daily.

Following his teacher’s advice, Shumao also changed the name of his studio from “Fengmao” to “Fengmao”, which is phonetically translated as “Femo”, thus creating his English name, Femo Wong.
The studio’s logo develops the shape of the letters “FEMO” into a combination of arrows, which not only corresponds to the shape of the original letters, but also has a guiding image to express “design leads to life”, and at the same time reflects the pioneering temperament of Femo Design Studio as a design office.
Headquartered in Shenzhen, China, Femo Design Studio is a diversified design-based research studio that has become one of the most respected furniture design studios in China. Based on its rich collection and international vision, the studio has its own unique insight into the proportions, details and structure of products. Currently, the studio focuses on innovative design of furniture, lighting and various lifestyle products for domestic and international brands, as well as exhibition curation and design planning services for brands.
Femo Design Studio is dedicated to exploring the design feasibility of new materials and carrying out long-term conceptual design projects. At the same time, the studio has a rich collection of more than 2000 pieces of original design products, which is still growing, and is committed to becoming the design organization with the richest collection system of original home product design in China.

In 2021, Chinese designer Femo Wong launched his eponymous home furnishings brand FEMO WONG, which includes furniture, lighting and accessories. Raised in oriental culture with an international design vision, the brand’s design is inspired by modernism and contemporary aesthetics, emphasizing the aesthetics of craftsmanship, proportions and details, and is committed to using high-quality materials and excellent craftsmanship to express forward-looking modern design. FEMO WONG’s mission is to create products that stand the test of time with a simple yet modern design approach.
The brand logo was created by the famous Chinese graphic designer Tiger Pan , which is minimalist yet highly recognizable.
